Our Lady Star of the Sea, Heaval, Isle of Barra, Outer Hebrides, Scotland. Heaval is the highest hill on the Isle of Barra, an island at the southern end of the Outer Hebrides. Beneath the summit is the statue of Madonna and Child, known as ‘Our Lady Star of the Sea’. The statue is carved from Carrara marble and was erected in the 1950s facing south over Castlebay and toward Vatersay.
