Cascade Pier is located on the North side of Norfolk Island, directly opposite to Kingston, and has been utilised as an access point since the first colonial settlement for much the same reasons as it is in the 21st century. Namely, if the winds and seas prevent unloading to the South, there is the possibility the North will offer easier access and vice versa. On a calm evening at dusk it’s hard to imagine that the area can be anything but peaceful and serene.
