Moine Ho, North Coast

ABOUT THIS IMAGE

Moine House is a ruined croft located on a stretch of road along Scotland’s North Coast 500 route, near Kyle of Tongue. The house was built around the 1830s as a halfway house along a particularly hard stretch of land. Today the building is a distinct and relatively lone landmark along a stretch of road that remains largely uninhabited. On a beautiful summer evening I approached the house and the skies were as eerie and beautiful as the landscape. In the North of Scotland the summer evenings are long and the light often changes calmly and gradually offering time to reflect on the scene, its stories, and those that have come before.
