Vatersay is a magnificent island located south of Barra at the southern end of the Outer Hebrides. This gate is located moreorless where the 184 mile Hebridean Way begins (or ends depending how you do it) and whether you are starting or completing the route, or simply exploring the other worldly Outer Hebrides, this beach and its crystal clear waters are an inviting oasis. The partially open gate and rustic fence are well photographed, and for good reason.
